Accept vs. Except

Many people are often confused with these two words. What do they mean?

"Accept" is a verb (action word) and it means to agree to take something. For example, "Teachers only accept homework on time."

"Except" is used as a preposition or conjunction. It means something or someone is not included. For example, "I teach every day except Sundays and Mondays."

Have you used them correctly? If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Language Plus Living Space at 02-2794-5848 or email languageplus@albin.net
